The SPEAR3 4-Pack Launcher Container has undergone a Critical Design Review and is cleared for the start of qualification testing.
The testing will include shock and vibration testing at extremes of temperature to simulate in-service transportation by air, sea, road and rail. Vertical and horizontal impact tests will also be performed to demonstrate that the container is able to survive and protect the Launcher from excessive shocks in the event of accidental drops and shunts.
A series of engineering assessments will be prepared to verify that each specified demanding environmental requirement is satisfied, following which the container will be certified as suitable to enter service.
We are pleased to have reached this important milestone of the development programme on time.
